Welcome to Kish Communications

I’ve always been keen to write a blog but feared that my ramblings would not be of any interest to anyone – I must say, nothing worse than the whole world thinking you’re boring. Ouch! However, in order to embrace this brave new world of social networking, I thought “F*&k it” – so here I am and with me I introduce my new company, Kish Communications…

Kish Communications (or Kish Comms as I like to call it) is my baby. My PR agency and consultancy firm. We specialise in electronic music. I am very passionate about electronic music in all its many forms. I get really offended by people who dismiss electronic music as just ‘noise’ with no musicality, or seem to think that the industry that I have lived and breathed for the last 15 years is just rubbish, and full of mash heads that can barely string 2 words together (although unfortunately on a Monday morning, I have been subjected to the paranoia and stutters of many a promoter!)

My background is in booking agencies… I have worked at 4 major booking agencies in London, having worked with bands such as Muse, Keane and Razorlight. My love has always been electronic music – I started DJing when I was 19 and its the industry I always wanted to work in. As an agent I have worked with DJs such Steve Angello, Axwell, Groove Armada, Tim Deluxe, Sebastian Ingrosso and Darren Emerson. I have to say, I hated the bookings world. Really not me. I have always been interested in PR and especially helping DJs with no managers, and ensuring that they had a great biog, great press shots, and made sure their image was as it should be. I have also been a firm believer in interaction with your fans aswell as the press so LOVE what this digital age can do for us. It really is mind-blowing. I am loving the challenges that the internet has brought – flushing out the old archaic way that marketing & PR was built. Its not all about the press clippings now, but the buzz and excitement and of course,  visibility you can get online through blogs, newswires, podcasts…

So, that is me… My company, Kish Comms provide press campaign management and consultancy to artists, labels, conferences, events and festivals worldwide. We cover print, digital and radio. With  some TV thrown in for good measure.

My clients are mFlow (they are going to change the face of music download sites!), La Tour, Pole Folder, Toolroom, Charlie May and Cicada. You can check them out at these sites: /

So, that’s it really. I look forward to talking on this lots and sharing some wicked music, cool bits of news and all the new things that I come across.

So until then. TTFN x
